Montse Oliver

Originally from Spain and now based in Geneva, Switzerland, Montse Oliver is an artist whose work centres around themes of love and ideas of home.

The experiences lived in the countries she has called home alongside her Mediterranean heritage are her
key sources of inspiration. A colourful palette and the feeling of gratitude
are always present when she paints. Montse’s background in finance and accounting influence her work, making her rationalise the free flow of the brushstrokes and give a calculated and structured approach to her paintings.

The heart is a recurring motif in her work “It’s a powerful shape that holds many

meanings and, as such, hearts stay present in my portfolio. With my works I aim to create paintings that trigger positive feelings and emotions. Having called many places home, the experiences lived, the people met, the unique daylight during the different seasons, all somehow are part of the intangible feelings I want to convey. With each new location there’s a special feeling of belonging to a new place with a glimpse of nostalgia from the previous one.”
