Perhaps you’ve sold pieces, taken part in exhibitions, built an audience or started getting opportunities.
You know you want this to be more than something you do on the side.
But knowing you want an art career and knowing how to build one are two very different things.
This program is not for artists still exploring their practice or building a body of work. If you’re not yet ready to share and contextualize your work, this isn’t the right step yet.
The art world gives you plenty of options. Just not much help navigating them
Sell directly. Approach galleries. Apply for open calls. Do art fairs. Take commissions. License your work.
They’re all viable routes.
The question is which ones make sense for your work, your ambition and where you are now.
Which deserve your attention?
Which are stepping stones towards where you want to go next?
And which can you safely ignore for now?
Without that context, it’s easy to spread yourself across everything, applying for opportunities because they might lead somewhere, wondering what you should be posting, thinking you should probably find a gallery, and watching what other artists are doing in case you should be doing it too.
You don’t need more things to do. You need clarity on what you’re building towards.
We look at what you’ve already built, where your work sits in the marketplace and what you want your art career to become.
Then we look at the routes available to you and decide where your attention is best spent now.
That might mean strengthening how you position and talk about your work. Building your collector base. Getting more confident selling directly. Preparing for the right opportunities. Developing your visibility. Or putting foundations in place for galleries, fairs and other routes later.
There isn’t a fixed curriculum, because there isn’t one correct way to build an art career.

MEET YOUR COACH, GITA JOSHI
Gita Joshi is an award winning art dealer, inddependent curator, editor at Art Seen Magazine, author of bestseller, Show Your Art and an artist coach. She opened her gallery in 2013, called Orso Major and it was an award winning gallery at Waterloo, London til 2016.
She has run artists open studio programs, worked with arts charities, organised open exhibitions, curated exhibitions in business spaces as well as within the gallery context, helped artists prepare to work with galleries, portfolio reviews, been a juror for art competitions and is a member of the Association of Women Art Dealers.
Through coaching and mentoring she has worked with scores of artists to develop their professional business skills, show their art, find gallery representation, secure media coverage and grow their collector base and wider audience.
She provides coaching for artists who want to be seen, celebrated and share their story.
