Stella Bronson

Stella Bronson transforms everyday items and recycled materials into enigmatic, organic forms that are reminiscent of the body. These objects hold remembrance to the intimate history they once contained.

Stella is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Seattle, Washington. She earned her BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in 2021 with a concentration in Sculpture and Installation. Her work explores concepts of nature, integrated with the human experience.

She says “The mattress is perhaps one of the most intimate items we possess. These are the objects where we rest our heads at night, in our most vulnerable state.

By using mattress toppers and transforming them into organic, biomorphic shapes, they begin to mimic imagery from the natural world. The surface treatment solidifies and preserves the memory of how they were once used.”

Over the past two years, her work has been shown at the Fred Hutch Invitational, Port Angeles Sculpture Park, and The Museum Of Museums
in Seattle, WA.
